what exactly do you mean? that in the first step a string variable is created, and in the next step it is converted to uppercase? instead of writing the text in uppercase in the first place?i guess he wanted to flex his js muscles 🙂

The errors – doctype at bottom, spelling mistake and the silly uppercasing – are less severe than the general inaccessibility of an empty page with ALL the information given by a script alert.
